Weis Markets Inc. is a market chain with over 200 stores across Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia. They started using our ringtread tires in 2022, supplied by our dealer Steve Shannon Tire from Bloomsburg PA.
The fleet has 142 tractors and 672 trailers. The tractors are equipped with 11R22.5 RDG100 Ringtreads and are mostly long haul and regional operation with yearly mileages per vehicle in the range of 300,000 miles. The RDG100 ringtread is anopen shoulder drive with unique interlock sipes with exceptional traction in all weather conditions, delivering long mileage and resistance to irregular wear.
Weis Market is always looking at ways to improve their operating costs without sacrificing traction and safety. The transportation/fleet maintenance manager Mr. Michael Fetterolf has been following 20 vehicles equipped with the Ringtread RDG100 since June/2023, which has given them an average performance of about 11,100 miles/32 (around 200,000 miles per tire). These results are approximately 30% morewhat they have been getting with the competition.
